Edinburgh is Scotland's capital and has a medieval Old Town and an elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. With stunning architecture, endless winding streets and an awe-inspiring castle perched on a dormant volcano, Edinburgh is a site to be explored.
There is a plethora of attractions and things to do in town: admire artworks in galleries & treasured wonders in museums, shop around in boutique stores, or wind down in cozy coffee shops & whisky pubs.
Some favorites I explored were Edinburgh Castle, the National Museum of Scotland, Jupiter Artland, The Royal Yatch Britannia, the Royal Mile, the Highlands, afternoon High Tea at the Balmoral Hotel and a rustic- chic Mediterranean tapas restaurant, Baba.
For three weeks in August, Edinburgh comes to life during their annual Fringe Festival welcoming an explosion of creative energy from around the globe. Artists and performers take to hundreds of stages all over the city including theatre, comedy, dance, circus, cabaret, children's shows, musicals, opera, music, spoken word, exhibitions and events. This years event takes place August 4-28, 2023.
Edinburgh is totally one of my fave cities! If you haven’t been…out it on your list for travel.
