Just outside of Edinburgh in a small town called Wilkieston there lies a contemporary sculpture garden considered one of Scotland’s most significant arts organizations.
Founded in 2009 by philanthropist art collectors Robert and Nicky Wilson, the property spans over 100 acres of meadow, woodland and indoor gallery spaces, and is home to over 30 permanent and unique site-specific sculptures from artists.
When I first arrived to Jupiter Artland, I was surprised by the size of the property and also mystified by the large structures & sculptures scattered across the land in the distance. Upon arrival, I was handed a map to explore the variety of art exhibits throughout the property and I was excited to start my exploration. I followed the trail and found my way into peaceful woodlands & meadows, stopping every few feet along the way to gaze in awe at the different exhibits and take in the clean, crisp air of Scotland.
The entire experience was certainly one to remember. I highly recommend anyone visiting Edinburgh looking for a unique art adventure to visit Jupiter Artland.
